Let’s Get Started…Before the Holidays!

It is Fall! Halloween will be here, then Thanksgiving, then Christmas or other holiday celebrations, then it is the new year.  Let’s welcome the New Year with less of us present!  On the way to better health…it is a great way to start a new year.  The food that accompanies these holiday celebrations will be there…always.  You can make a tasty dinner with calorie and portion control, anyday.  Keep that in mind as you face these challenges to a slimmer you.

It is all about attitude and motivation!  Get your family and friends to support your efforts to longer life and better health.  Don’t wait for Tomorrow! Start NOW!  No matter your age…it is not to late!  You are needed and loved by many people…don’t let them or yourself down.  Love yourself as much as you love others and that will enhance your ability to focus and be healthy.

I command you ~ be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9

Life is full of surprise.

Life is so full of unexpected surprises.  My husband went for an interview in Charlotte, NC and got a great job.  Too great to turn down.  Now we are getting ready to move. I would not have thought we were going to move anytime soon. We are now packing, cleaning, painting, and making minor touch ups in our 4 year old home.  We have also been looking for a new place in NC.  During this time, it has been a challenge to keep ‘our’ weight loss goals in mind. My husband and I are on this journey of life together and that includes the weight loss.  Without eachother’s support it would be so hard.  We will not give up on life and living to its fullest!  Full in the sense of experiencing our children and future generations with a healthy, in shape, body.  We no longer fill ourselves with food to feel like we have a ‘full’ life.  We fill ourselves with activity and time being with the ones we love.

What is more important to you?  Food or Family?  It is a choice.  We all have to get a grip and stick to our goals.

Bless you all! Good luck living a healthy new life!

POST SOMETHING POSTIVE! We need to encourage one another!

I have been successful.  I went out to eat and did not gain weight.  Good choices are available to everyone, you just have to learn to change your eating habits.  It is okay to have a burger…once in  a while.  It is okay to have a piece of garlic bread, once in a while.  Food is not the enemy.  We have contol over our ability to make choices.  You can have something you want, just not as much as you used to eat.  Have a smaller portion of your favorite food, but do not do this everyday, as you could fall back into old habits.

I am worth the effort!  You are worth the effort!  We can continue our journey and be successful together!

Let’s remain positive!

Hi,

I know it is hard to remain positive, but you have to remember that you did not get fluffed out over night.  Let’s pray together and be thankful for what progress we have made.  This is a lifestyle change.  This is not a fad diet or quick fix.  We have to change our ways for life.  This will ensure that we can maintain our new selves once we get to our destination.  I am so looking forward to our long journey, together.

Richard is so inspriational.  If he can do this, we can too!  I joined a forum on weight loss.  It has proven to be very good for me.  I am doing good so far, good luck to everyone.

Weight loss

I am going to do better this week.  I am looking forward to progressing on my journey to me.  It has been a long time (16 years) since I have seen my old self.  I wish everyone a great week!

Smile, Life is a Journey!

I am learning to exercise!

I have been using my eliptical, faithfully, for the past 2 days.  I also put a Kathy Smith Abs work out.  I found areas of my body that I forgot about.  I will Do it!  So can you!
